Color, Value and Hue

ROYGBIV is an acronym for the sequence of the color described as making rainbow: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, and Violet.

According to Wikipedia, Color is the visual perceptual property corresponding in humans to the categories called red, blue,yellow, green and others. Color derives from the spectrum of light  interacting in the eye with the spectral sensitivities of the light receptors. And color has their own general meaning or description


RED 

Dynamic, vital, commanding, alert,rebellious, food, joyful, hot, fun and romance. Take note that Chinese people represents red as happiness and black represents death.

ORANGE 

Orange combines the energy of red and the happiness of yellow. To the human eye orange is a very visible color.  As a citrus color, orange is associated with healthy food and stimulates appetite. It can be also described as helpful, cozy, abundant, warning, festive, burning, active, communicative, excite, inspiring flavorful and nutritious.

YELLOW 

Yellow is the color of sunshine. It's associated with brightness, joy, happiness, visibility and energy. It can be also described as curious, young, playful, creative, weight, coward, nutritious, ill, expanding, so on and so forth.

GREEN 

Green is the color of nature. It symbolizes growth, harmony, freshness, and fertility. Green correspondence with safety. Dark green is also commonly associated with money. It can also be described as patient, natural, relaxed, athletic, adventurous, unfortunate  lucky, sharing and balanced.

BLUE 

Blue is my  third favorite color. Blue is the color of the sky and sea. It is often associated with depth and stability. It also symbolizes loneliness, cold, clean, commanding, calmness, technical, lonely, peaceful, protective, authoritative, etc.

PURPLE 

Purple is my second favorite color. It is the combination of the stability of blue and the energy of red. Purple is associated with royalty. It can also be described as melancholic, feminine, intelligent, aloof, fragrant, luxurious, vanity and solemn.









WHITE 

White is associated with light, goodness, innocence, purity, and virginity. It is considered to be the color of perfection.

White means safety, purity, and cleanliness. As opposed to black, white usually has a positive connotation. White can represent a successful beginning.                       BLACK 

Black is my favorite color. I know for some people, black means negative, evil, emotional, mourning, fear, death, so on and so forth. But black symbolizes or can also be described as power, wealth, sophistication, style, formality, mystery, strength, authority, vintage and photography, emptiness, prestige, wisdom, elegance or class and music. 

Black gives the feeling of perspective and depth, but a black background diminishes readability. When designing for a gallery of art or photography, you can use a black or gray background to make the other colors stand out. Black contrasts well with bright colors. Combined with other very powerful colors, black gives a very aggressive color scheme.
